Yesterday we went to visit a church in an attempt to find out where we will continue to worship. I don’t know but maybe I have to many things I want from a church, I mean I realize that no church is going to be perfect but I suppose there are some things that I really want. Good sound non-watered down seeker preaching/teaching, this is my first priority and the one that I am finding is the most rare. With the implementation of seeker sensitive preaching ministers tend to dumb things down or teach through the lens of reductionism.
A close second for me is that the church be missional, determined not simply to cater to the Christian community and live in church culture, but to reach out and impact the culture that surrounds them.
I don’t know if I will find what I am looking for but I will continue to look until God either leads me to my new home or tells me what else to do.
