Through The Bible: a Pause

I am going to discontinue my weekly through the Bible posts. This is a decision while not easy is for the best. I am still reading the Bible on the Chronological schedule here at my site, and I hope many of you join me but the fact is I am reading with the wrong intentions. I have found myself reading just to have something to write and I don’t think that is a healthy way to go about things.

I am going to ad a contact page in the near future so if someone has a question about the schedule or the Bible I can answer them as best I can but I don’t want to read the Bible to find something to write about. I want to come to it without that type of preconception.

Sorry if this dissappoints but I am sure I will find some things to write about, I just don’t want to force the issue on a weekly basis.

  1. Jason,

You said, “I have found myself reading just to have something to write…” Yeah. I think alot of teachers do this. I’ve completely changed the way I read, study, and teach Scripture because I came to a similarly conclusion a couple of years ago.

  2. I am still working through this “Through The Bible” and I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond to something for me. Yeah- I am reading the November 28th passage and still hoping to “catch-up” But 1 Corinthians 12:1 to the end is the context. The verses that I read this morning were one of those that I read again for the first time. i.e. never really “saw” the text. vs. 22-24 All of “the parts” mentioned within those verses make me wonder who could be considered to be these parts. But- more especially– what “part” could be considered “unpresentable and needing to be treated w/special modesty, ??????????
